  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add turkey bacon and cook until crispy.
  2. Add carrots, celery, and onion; sauté until tender.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir, cooking for 2 minutes.
  5. Slowly add chicken broth while whisking to prevent lumps.
  6. Bring to a simmer, then add shredded chicken, peas, cream, thyme, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  7. Cook for an additional 10 minutes until thickened.
  8. Serve warm.
